Ponarth Church

The Ponarther church was built 1896-1897 as a Protestant church of the then independent municipality Ponarth. The brick building in neo-Gothic style, was inaugurated on 23 July 1897. 1905 Ponarth was a district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia, now Kaliningrad in Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast.

During the Second World War, the spire and the northern gable were slightly damaged. After the war the church for worship of the remaining Germans served. Of the Kaliningradern the church was used first as a warehouse and later as a gym. In the early 1980s the roof tiles were replaced by cement slabs. The building is used by a Russian Orthodox church again as a religious building since 2002.
