Pong District

Amphoe Pong ( Thai: อำเภอ ป ง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the east of the province of Phayao. The Phayao province is located in the northeastern part of North Thailand.

Geography

Amphoe Pong borders the following districts ( from east clockwise): Amphoe the song Khwae, Tha Wang Pha Mueang Nan and in the province of Nan and the Amphoe Chiang Muan, Dok Khamtai, and Chun Chiang Kham in Phayao province.

History

The counties was originally called Mueang Pong, he was discovered in 1917 but was renamed in Ban Muang ( บ้านม่วง ). In 1939, he was renamed back to Pong, the term Mueang was weggeleassen it. 1952, the district of Chiang Rai province has been assigned, with the exception of the District Sa - iap, which was separated and the district song subordinate in Phrae. In 1977, the new Phayao province was established, Pong was associated with this.

Management

Amphoe Pong consists of seven sub-districts ( tambon), which further into 88 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There are three small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Pong ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ป ง ) consists of parts of tambon Pong and Na Prang,
