Ponos

Ponos ( altgr. Πόνος, toil ) was in Greek mythology a daimon embodying the Zwangsbemühung, the hard work and fatigue. His corresponding laboratory in Roman mythology.

According to Hesiod's Theogony, he was the son of Eris, as he descended in Cicero's De natura deorum of Nyx and Erebus. In Seneca's tragedy Oedipus Oedipus is accompanied into exile by ponos.
