Location

The bridge is located about 3 km from the city center, between the old town situated in the Pont de pierre and the highway bridge Pont d' Aquitaine and connects the districts Bacalan and Bastide. Construction

Since the bridge is to allow the passage of cruise ships to the city of Bordeaux, it was designed as a vertical lift bridge.

The steel lifting platform of 2600 tonnes in weight with 120 m length and 45 m width is four towers of 87 m height, which are established in 18 m deep in the ground, with a motor-driven pulley construction, supported by counterweights moves.
