Pontenet is a municipality in the administrative district in the canton of Bern Bernese Jura in Switzerland.

Geography

Pontenet is located on 741 m above sea level. M., 10 km west-southwest of the town Moutier (air line). The farming village extends on a knoll on the lower southern slopes of the Moron approximately 30 m above the valley floor of the Birs, in the broad valley basin of the Jura latitudinal Vallée de Tavannes.

The area of ​​2.7 km ² large municipality area comprises a narrow section in the central part of the Vallée de Tavannes. The southern part takes up the Birs Talniederung. A small tip comes to the lower slopes of the Montoz chain flanking the Vallée de Tavannes on its south side. Population

History
