The Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (Latin: Pontificia Studiorum Universitas a Sancto Thoma Aquinas in Urbe, Italian: Pontificia Università San Tommaso d' Aquino ) - also known as the Angelicum - is named after Thomas Aquinas Pontifical University in Rome. It is led by members of the Dominican Order; Also, most of the professors belong to this order.

History

The Angelicum has established its roots in the medieval " general studies " of the Dominican order in 1222 in the convent of Santa Sabina in Rome.
