Pontius of Carthage

Pontius ( mid- third century, exact survival data are not known ) was a Christian Latin writer from Carthage. In the town of Carthage, he had the position of a deacon. From Pontius only one plant is known: The " Vita Caecilii Cypriani ", a biography of Cyprian of Carthage. The value of the work as a historical source for the life of Cyprian is controversial and is estimated to be low, significant, however, the work is as a representation of the ideal image of a Christian bishop of the 3rd century
