Pontoglio

Pontoglio ( bridge over the Oglio ) is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 6905 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Brescia, in Lombardy. The municipality is situated approximately 29 km west-northwest of Brescia, about 19.5 kilometers southeast of Bergamo from the Oglio. Pontoglio is immediately adjacent to the province of Bergamo. The town lies on dell'Oglio Parco Nord in Brescia lowlands.

History

In the 12th century the place due to the slaughter of Palosco and Mala Morte was known. 1575 and 1576 went to the town nearly destroyed by the plague.

Traffic

Pontoglio is from the previous Strada Statale 469 Sebbina Occidentale (coming from Lovere and after Urago d' Oglio leader ), which is now downgraded to provincial road crosses.
