Pooh (band)

The Italian band Pooh was founded in 1966 by Valerio Negrini. The other first members of this band were Mauro Bertoli, Robert Gillot, Mario Goretti, Gilberto Faggioli. The members of the band changed often initially. Soon Roby Facchinetti was added to the band. He is still one of the most active songwriter of the band. Another well-known musicians, Riccardo Fogli, stepped in a few months after the foundation of the band. Dodi Battaglia came 1968 on the band. Stefano D' Orazio was added in 1971. 1973 was a turning point in the history of the band. A new member, Red Canzian (replacement for Riccardo Fogli ), joined the group and since this year were together and that to date, the musician, that is, the band consists of Roby Facchinetti to the keyboard instruments, Dodi Battaglia on guitar, Stefano D ' Orazio on drums and Red Canzian on bass.

They are among the most successful mainstream musicians in Italy and have fans at the age of 14 to well over 60 years. They have sold in Italy alone more than 50 million CDs. In 1990 she won the Festival of Sanremo with the hit Uomini soli. In 2006 they celebrate their 40th anniversary on stage with another collection of her successful songs and a new tour across Italy. Other CDs include Parsifal (1973 ), Un po 'del nostro tempo migliore (1975 ), Boomerang (1978), Palas port (Live 1982) Ascolta ( 2004).

2006 Pooh composed the official anthem " Cuore Azzurro " for the Italian national football team at the 2006 World Cup in Germany. After the World Cup victory in Italy, the song reached # 2 on the charts.

D' Orazio has to leave the group in late 2009. The band is active in spite of than before and has a new CD " Dove comincia il Sole" published in 2010, followed by a long tour.
