Pool Department

Pool is a department of the Republic of Congo with the capital Kinkala. It is named after the pool Malebo (formerly Stanley Pool ), a lake, to which the Congo River dams up in Kinshasa.

Geography

The Department is located in the southeast of the country and extends to the north and west of the capital Brazzaville. It is bordered to the north by the Department Plateaux, on the northwest by the Department Lékoumou, on the southwest by the Department Bouenza and the south and east of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the capital district Brazzaville.
