Pope Anastasius IV

Anastasius IV (c. 1073; † December 3, 1154 ), originally from the Konrad Suburra (also Corrado della Suburra ) was born on July 12, 1153 as the successor of Eugenius III. elected Pope. His name means " The Risen " (Greek )

Already in 1130 was Anastasius, then profiled as Cardinal Bishop of Sabina, was involved in the former double election and had established itself as one of the most determined opponents of the anti-Pope Anacletus II.

In his brief pontificate, he succeeded well resolve the dispute with the German king Frederick Barbarossa to the bishopric of Magdeburg as the dispute over the English Diocese of York.
