Pope Boniface VI

Boniface VI. († April 896 ) was named informally in April 896 by the enemies of his predecessor Formosus the Pope. The office of presbyter, he had already lost because of immoral conduct. His pontificate did not last long, he died only 15 days after taking office. It was the third shortest in history, the year 896 was thus a three popes year.
