Pope Sixtus I

Sixtus I ( † 125 ) (Latin - Greek Xystus ) was referred from about 115 until his death, Bishop of Rome and as a priest and martyr. Biographical data are not known. He is regarded as the Romans and is first mentioned in the Pope list of Irenaeus of Lyon. The Catholic feast of Sixtus is the 3rd of April. Larger as a saint enjoyed early martyrs of Sixtus II His name means: S ( e) = xtus the Sixth (latin ) or Xystos = the Smoothed (Greek ).
