Popular Front (Tunisia)

The Popular Front (Arabic الجبهة الشعبية, French Front populaire ) or the Popular Front for the achievement of the Revolution Objectives ( الجبهة الشعبية لتحقيق أهداف الثورة, Front populaire pour la réalisation of objectifs de la révolution ) is a left party alliance in Tunisia, and out of twelve parties several independents there. She is represented by six of 217 deputies in the Constituent Assembly of the country.

The Secretary-General of the Popular Front was Chokri Belaïd of the movement Democratic patriots. Since his assassination on February 6, 2013, is Hamma Hammami of the Tunisian Workers' Party.

It was founded on October 7, 2012, and united the movement of Democratic Patriots and the Labour Party with the movement of Socialist Democrats, Green Tunisia, the Iraqi and Syrian -run branches of the Baath Party and other regards itself as progressive parties.
