Popular Mechanics

Popular Mechanics is an American popular science magazine for science and technology. It was first published on January 11, 1902 by Henry H. Windsor. Since 1958 it is part of the Hearst Corporation. There are nine international editions, including a Latin American version that has been published since decades and a newer South African edition.

Popular Mechanics features regular articles in the categories: automotive, home, outdoor, science and technology. The late-night talk show host and car enthusiast Jay Leno regularly writes the column " Jay Leno 's Garage ".

The main competitors of Popular Mechanics include Popular Science, Wired and Men's Journal.

Popular Mechanics is a subsidiary of Hearst Corporation, which also holds a financial stake in the History Channel.
