Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus

The PRRS virus is an RNA virus belonging to the family of Arteriviridae with a genome size of approximately 15 kb and eight ORFs ( open reading frames ). It is the causative agent of plague sticking late abortion in swine. The disease occurred in 1987 first time in the United States.
