Porky Pig

Porky (English: Porky Pig) is a character from the cartoon series " Looney Tunes" from Warner Bros.

The fictional character was created by Bob Clampett and first appeared in the short film I Have not Got a Hat (1935, directed by Friz Freleng ).

In the U.S. the figure particularly due to the animated series Porky Pig (English Porky Pig Show; 1964-1972 ) became popular. In the original Porky was first spoken by Joe Dougherty, who was a stutterer and this did incorporate into the role. But since he could control his stutter badly, the company's production costs were too high by the constant repetition and so the role was handed over to the Voice Talent Mel Blanc. Each cartoon episode was with Porky Th- th-th -that's all folks! completed, and in the variation THAT'S ALL FOLKS is the saying on Mel Blanc's grave stone.

After many episodes as the main character Porky was " committed " as a sidekick for the new Cartoon Duck Daffy Duck, who later served then also as a sidekick for the rabbit Bugs Bunny. These characters were all spoken by Mel Blanc.

The first broadcast of Porky in Germany on January 3, 1972 at ZDF. The distinctive German dubbing voice came from Walter Gross. A total of 50 episodes were broadcast.

The broadcasting in Germany led to massive protests because of the parents regarded as glorifying violence representation. ZDF put the program from then.

Repetitions on private television in recent times, however, remained without associated public response.

In the movie " Who Framed Roger Rabbit" ( Who Framed Roger Rabbit, 1988) Porky has a cameo the last word with his famous " That's All Folks! " Line.

In ZDF sequences with longer opening and closing credits and other compilation ran. Originally, even Roadrunner, Speedy Gonzales and Bugs Bunny one of the party. The private television station sent a new compilation with the titles listed above. Porky was synchronized for ZDF in two stages: at the beginning of the 1970s with Walter Gross ( Porky ) and Dieter Kursawe ( Daffy Duck), in the mid -1980s, said Wolfgang Spier (Dick) and Wilfried Herbst ( Daffy ).
