Port Askaig

Port Askaig (Gaelic: Port Asgaig ) is a small village on the Scottish island of Islay and is therefore in the Unitary Authority Argyll and Bute. It is on the east coast of the island at the narrowest point of the Islay Sound, which separates the islands of Islay and Jura. Port Askaig Port Ellen is next to the only major port of the island and is regularly served by ferries. Moreover, it is at the ferry route to Jura to the only regular ferry service to the island.

North of the village two major whiskey distilleries, Caol Ila and Bunnahabhain are located.
