Port Bell

Location of Port Bell in Uganda

Port Bell is a port city in the district of Kampala in Uganda near the capital Kampala. The port is used for the international movement of goods across Lake Victoria. The town takes its name after Sir Hesketh Bell, the British envoy in Uganda from 1906 until 1909.

The place is also 10 km away and connected by railway line Kampala as a port, including the trains running on Lake Victoria ferries.

About the Uganda Railway, the first section was completed in 1901, the place is connected since the enlargement of the track in 1931 with Nairobi and Mombasa on the Indian Ocean.
