Port Glaud is one of the 25 administrative districts of the Seychelles. With 25 square kilometers, it is the largest municipality on the island of Mahé.

Geography

Large parts of the district are taken from the highest mountain of the Seychelles, the 905 meter high Morne Seychellois, and its foothills. These wooded areas are part of a national park and are largely uninhabited. On the coast, opposite the island of Thérèse is the small town of Port Glaud. In the north- west of the district are the last mangrove forests of Mahé. The beaches of Port Launay and Baie Ternay belong to the district, as well as the islands of Conception ( 0.603 km ²), Thérèse (0.72 km ²), L' Ile aux Vaches Marines and Islette (each with 5-6 hectares ).

Naming and history
