Port Huron Border Cats

The Port Huron Border Cats were an American ice hockey team from Port Huron, Michigan. The team played from 1996 to 2002 in the Colonial Hockey League (from 1997 United Hockey League).

History

The franchise was relocated to the Detroit Falcons in 1996 by Fraser within the State of Michigan to Port Huron and Port Huron Border Cats renamed. In the regular season the team was in the six years of its existence, in each case to the konstantsten the league, never came into the playoffs for the Colonial Cup, however, beyond the second round. This they achieved also in season 1999/2000. In their first three seasons, the Border Cats eliminated each of the first round in their last two seasons they missed the playoffs completely. Then, the franchise was dissolved.

The gap left by the Border Cats in 2002 in the city was filled by the Port Huron Beacons that have been recorded for 2002/03 season as expansion team in the United Hockey League.
