Port Huron Icehawks

The Port Huron Icehawks were an American Hockey franchise from Port Huron, Michigan. The team played from 2007 to 2010 in the International Hockey League. Their home games they carried out in the McMorran Arena. The owner of the Icehawks was Larry Kinney, owner and CEO of DataPak Services Corporation of Howell.

History

The Port Huron Icehawks were founded in 2007 as a franchise of the International Hockey League. In this their greatest success was reaching the Turner Cup finals in the 2007/ 08 season in which they failed with 3:4 victories in the best- of-seven series at the Fort Wayne Komets. Before they reached the second place in the regular season. In the 2008 /09 season, the Icehawks were again second in the regular season, after which their head coach Stan Drulia was named IHL Coach of the Year. For their achievements on and off the ice, the team was also awarded this season and received the award IHL franchise of the Year. The franchise was disbanded following the 2009/10 season.
