Portable computer

The term Portable refers to a computer for mobile use with special housing form that has an integrated display. Translated, portable " portable". Later these computers form was partly humorous called luggable, which translates as " schleppbar " means. Especially in the beginning, it was partly in portables at the lighter more portability than to network independence, so some of these devices did not have batteries or batteries. These systems were intended to be used (for example, both in the business presentations as well as or at home) at different locations.

Today Portables are not only in industry and the military still in use, but also in research and in forensic data acquisition. Its strength lies, in contrast to laptops that acquisition cards can be installed or hard disks with several terabytes of storage.
