Portaledge

Portaledge (also: Portable ledge ) is a tool to bivouac in the rock walls at the big wall climbing. It consists of a rigid platform (usually composed of aluminum rods, between which a material is stretched ) and straps, by which the portal edge is attached to pitons. Often the complete portaledge is additionally covered with a tarpaulin to protect the user from wind and rain.
