Portland State University

The Portland State University (also called PSU) is a public university based in Portland, Oregon. With 23.117 students it is the largest university in Oregon. The university, founded in 1946 is part of the Oregon University System.

History

The Vanport Extension Center opened in 1946 to returning veterans of World War II to allow higher education. The device survived a flood and was transferred three times before she found her final location in Portland. In 1955 the College the status of a Four - Year College and was renamed Portland State College. After renaming the Portland State University, the University received university status in 1969.
