Poster Stein is a municipality in the Thuringian district Altenburger Land. It belongs to the administrative community Upper Sprottental.

Geography

Geographical location

Through the community, the Western sprat that converges to the northeast of the municipal district with the man ego Walder sprat flows. The municipal area is attributed to the edge of the Altenburger Lössgebiets according to their natural outline of the state of Thuringia. The largest part of the municipal area is used for agriculture, smaller forest areas is available only in the north of the village on the left bank of the Western sprat and west of the community. The nearest towns are Ronneburg (3 miles west), Schmölln (5 km northeast) and Crimmitschau (7 km southeast).

Geology

In the so-called breakdown field of Posterstein run distortions through the layers series of Silurian, Devonian and Carboniferous volcanic and breakthroughs of porphyry, diabase and melaphyre. In this fault zone last occurred in 1872 on a widely noticeable earthquakes.

Adjacent communities are Heukewalde, Löbichau, Nöbdenitz and Vollmershain in the district Altenburger Land and Paitzdorf and the city Ronneburg district Greiz.

History

On April 14, 1191 Poster stone was first mentioned. In the 15th century, the family owned the castle puffer "stone", comes from her present name. In 1952, Posterstein by the county to the county Schmölln Gera, on the 1994 it came to the Altenburger Land district.

Since the local elections of 7 June 2009, the council is composed as follows:

  • CDU WG - 1 seat ( 25.2 %)
  • BI SPD - 4 seats ( 53.0 %)
  • PER COUNTRY AND PEOPLE - 1 seat ( 21.8 %)

The turnout was 68.1 %.

Mayor

Mayor since August 1, 1992 Stefan Jakubek, who was elected in the mayoral elections for either the SPD or the citizens' initiative of the SPD.

Culture and sights

The most striking building is the poster Steiner castle, lit up at night, and from the north of the community runs along Highway 4 is easily recognizable. At the castle is also a castle church.

Economy and infrastructure

The county road K 503 connects Posterstein and Stolzenberg with Nöbdenitz and the road L 1081, which in turn leads to the main road at Junction 7 and Ronneburg the BAB 4. The municipality is located in the Central German transport network and is connected via the circulating on working days except Saturdays bus 355 Schmölln- Untschen - Thonhausen the THÜSAC passenger transport company. The nearest connection points to rail is located two kilometers north-east in Nöbdenitz.
