Postprocessing

The term refers to the post-processing and post- processing of results of a computer simulation, such as a numerical flow simulation. Man tries to convert the resulting large amounts of data in an understandable form of representation, eg in graphics and animations.

The post-processing is often done with a separate program that has special functions and procedures for visualization. Examples are TecPlot or the open source project OpenDX.

Also for precision positioning with differential GPS (two or more satellite receiver) is the term used. Here he refers to the subsequent, more detailed analysis of the routes or phase measurements with final orbit data during the online location determination has only preliminary data are available. The evaluation of quasi -difference measurements ( by external circumstances perturbed distance or time measurements) can be done off-line better, such as the introduction of node points to reinforce the geometry.
