Postupice

Postupice ( German Postupic ) is a place with 1323 (31 December 2011 ) inhabitants in the region Středočeský kraj (Czech Republic).

Postupice is located nine kilometers north of the city Benešov and east of Vlašim in a picturesque landscape near the Blanik.

History

1205 Postupice was first mentioned in writing. In the second half of the 14th century, it was an eponymous seat of the Lords Kostka Postupic, supporters of the Hussites. The village went through several hands and was brought on August 20, 1711 to the city.

Founded in 1717 by Franz Adam of Trauttmansdorff a paper factory. 1725 was the gender of a castle built in the rococo style. In 1794, Count Heinrich Franz von Rottenhan weavers who brought an economic boom in the coming years with them. 1868 Postupice was bought by Zdeniek von Sternberg, whose descendants the village belonged until 1943. From the mid 19th century the village belonged to the district court Beneschau.
