Poundal

The poundal, short pdl, is a non- SI -conforming unit of force. It is a part of the absolute foot-pound -second Anglo-American system of measurement, a coherent subsystem of English units, which was introduced in 1879.

It is defined as 1 PDL. = 1 lb · ft · s -2.

Thus considered for conversion to the SI: 1 pdl. = 0.138 254 954 376 N.
