Považský hrad

Považský hrad ( Waagburg ) is a ruin in Považská Bystrica in Považie in Slovakia. It lies on a hill on the right bank of the river Vah.

History

Originally was a building at this point in the 12th century. The Waagburg ( Považský hrad ) itself dates from the 14th century ( 1316 ). 1543 built after a fire probably the deeper parts of the outer bailey. 1698 it was razed by order of Leopold I..
