Powder Tower

The Prague Powder Tower (Czech: Prašná brána ) is a 65 meter high Gothic Powder Tower in Prague, which owes its name to the black powder by the end of the 17th century mounted here.

1475 has started with the Tower. Only 400 years later the work was completed. In 1484 the work on this representation object were canceled because the king Vladislav II moved his office from the old town to the castle. The Tower had long been a temporary roof. Only in 1886 it was rebuilt at a restoration led by Josef Mocker in neo-Gothic style after a model of Old Town Bridge Tower and a hipped roof mounted. Today, the community house is attached to the tower, which was implemented from 1905 to 1911 in the Art Nouveau style.
