Power Holding Company of Nigeria

The National Electric Power Authority (abbreviated NEPA ) is a company that manages the power consumption in Nigeria. The current capacity of the country is 4,000 MW, tries to use the NEPA. To achieve this goal, the power industry in Nigeria is to be fully commercialized and privatized accordingly. It is to be part of the government to fund this industry or subsidize any direct support.

History

In the early nineties, the Niger Dam Authorities merged (NDA ) and the Electricity Cooperation for Electricity Cooperation of Nigeria (ECN ). Immediately afterwards, after the civil war in Nigeria chose the corporate management, to change the name to the National Electric Power Authority.

Background

The National Electric Power Authority established a far-reaching national strategy to promote efforts which aim to improve the relationships between human activities and the environment. This strategy is to reveal and explain information for the federal agency can make decisions and the public can be involved in the process of decision-making in relation to the environment.

Trivia

Due to the unreliability of the power supply NEPA has established itself in the Nigerian parlance as the epitome of a power failure: "There is NEPA ". In this case it is an acronym for "Never Expect Power Anytime ".
