PowerBuilder

Power Builder is an integrated development environment of the company Sybase to create client - server applications. The programming language called PowerScript is script- based, object-oriented and is similar to the later-developed Visual Basic ( VB). The special feature of PowerScript is the close cooperation with databases. The database queries (SQL Selects ) are stored in DataWindow objects. The latter can be used for both input forms as well as for evaluations. The DataWindow objects are inserted into a DataWindow control (container ) in order to use it. The DataWindow is also available for. NET (Windows and Web Forms) under the name DataWindow.NET. A development branch of PowerBuilder is the Pocket Builder, which in addition the development of applications for Windows Mobile allows, but does not include support for the. NET Framework.

Also available as an extension, the " PowerBuilder Application Server Plugin". It allows PB objects execute ( NVOs ) in application servers from other manufacturers (such as WebSphere, WebLogic, wildfly, Oracle, Geronimo ).

With PowerBuilder 11.5. NET integration has been further advanced for Winform and Webform applications.
