PowerCon
PowerCon is a proprietary rubber connector for the power supply of devices with single-phase alternating current with currents up to 20 amps, in a special form up to 32 amps. The system was developed by Neutrik from Liechtenstein and is legally protected. It is offered primarily for stage technology. Phase, neutral and protective conductors are protected against accidental contact. The plugs are locked against accidental removal.
Survey
The connectors are available in two designs: blue for receipt of mains voltage to a device, gray for the transfer of power voltage from one device to another. Can be male and female connectors are mechanically designed differently, so do not accidentally plugged into gray blue. For extension of connecting cables, there are clutch parts with a blue and a gray page.
The color coding is chosen so that with the same color, even with live contact and a voltage- receiving contact can be linked together forever. In addition, the contacts of the two series ( blue and gray) are formed in mirror image, so that a combination of plugs and sockets of different colors is not possible. Thus, an increased operational safety is guaranteed, in which a connecting two electrically live components is excluded.
The contact with the ground (protective earth ) is leading constructed, so this gets when plugging the first contact and lose it when removing last. Connections may only be made and released when neither side is energized. PowerCon can and must therefore not be used for wall outlets a home network.
The chassis connectors have the same bore and mounting dimensions as the XLR sockets of Neutrik D- Series and Speakon connectors and can thus be integrated into existing 19 " rack panels.
The mechanical design and dimensions of the connectors are very similar to the system for Speakon speaker connectors, PowerCon, however, is mechanically protected against accidental confusion.
PowerCon 32A
For applications with higher power requirements ( for example, for the lighting of stages ) larger, black PowerCon connectors and sockets are offered with a load capacity up to 32 amps. The connector was developed at the request of and in cooperation with theaters, the 56905 a contemporary replacement sought for their Eberl connectors according to DIN with little space requirement.
PowerCON TRUE1
The powerCON TRUE1 is a lockable plug-in device (that is, they may only be inserted under load and voltage) to 16 ampere current capacity. As an embodiment, there is both cable plugs and sockets as well as mounting plugs and sockets.
