The Poznań-Ławica Airport is one of the oldest and today the sixth-largest airport in Poland. It is located about seven kilometers west of the city center of Poznan ( Poznań).

History

The airport was in 1913 a German military airfield. On January 6, 1919 Polish insurgents captured the airport with a total of 250 military aircraft.

Since 11 July 1997, the Port Lotniczy Poznań -Ławica sp. z o.o. (Airport Lawica GmbH) operator of the airport. 60% of the shares are held by the Polish state on the State airport company, 24.2% of the city of Poznan and the remaining 11.9% of the Wielkopolska Region. On February 2, 2001, a new cargo terminal with 1,400 m² opened.

On 4 November 2001, a new passenger terminal was opened. The terminal has an area of ​​14,000 m² and it may be about 1.2 to 1.5 million passengers per year.

Today

The airport has a total area of 70,000 m². The runway is 2.5 km long.
