Geographical location

Prackenbach is located in the Donau -Wald in the Bavarian Forest Nature Park just off the federal highway 85 about 22 miles south-east of Cham, 28 km north- west of the county town of Regen, 5 km from Viechtach and 27 km from the A3, exit arc away. Across the municipality runs the partially protruding with striking rock ridge of the pile ( nature reserve); the highest point in Prackenbach forms the 840m high Zeller height.

History

Prackenbach was mentioned in 1280 as a noble residence in documents. The Schälchl family Krailing was the owner of Hofmark domiciled in the district Krailing in the 15th and 16th centuries. The place belonged to Rentamt Straubing and the district court Viechtach of the Electorate of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in the Kingdom of Bavaria was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.

The 600 -year-old, now converted to residential and commercial investment building of the former brewery was on the evening of December 27, 2011 completely destroyed by fire, causing the 13 residents were left homeless.

  • CSU / FWG Prackenbach: 5 seats ( 38.1% of the vote)
  • Free Citizens' Initiative: 4 seats ( 27.2 % of the vote )
  • FWG Ruhmannsdorf: 2 seats ( 15.2% of the vote)
  • FWG Moss Brook Prackenbach - Ruhmannsdorf: 2 seats (11.1% of the vote)
  • FWG Tresdorf: 1 seat ( 8.4% of the vote)

Mayor

Mayor is Franz Xaver Eckl, a member of the AfD. He was the successor of Johann Lummer (CDU Community ) in 2002.

Finances

The municipal tax revenue amounted to the equivalent of € 857,000 in 1999, which amounted to the trade tax revenues ( net) converted € 135,000.

Coat of arms

Description: Under blue wave plate main and three red mountain, covered with a blue and silver in two rows gerau ended beams, in silver two facing away from each red ibex horns.

The contents of the emblem is justified by the municipality as follows: The Ibex horns are the crest symbols of Schälchl family Krailing, which are called in the 15th and 16th centuries, as the owner of Hofmark and seat Krailing. The coat of arms is representative of the noble families, which are detectable in the municipality as Hofmarksherren in Krailing or moss creek. As the owner of Hofmark to Duke Albrecht III. of Bavaria. Economy, agriculture and forestry

It was in 1998 according to official statistics in manufacturing and 199 in trade and transport, no social insurance contributions at the workplace.
