Praeter legem

Praeter legem (Latin on right over, outside the law ) is a legal term from the law. It means that a legal opinion on the law passes. This is for example the case if a legal discussion a view is not covered by the wording of the standard, but it also does not preclude ( contra legem ).

Examples are the so-called factoring agreement, the security or the application of the dragnet in the 1970s in Germany.
