Praia a Mare is an Italian town in the province of Cosenza in Calabria with 6590 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).
Location and data
Praia a Mare is located about 107 km north of Cosenza on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The neighboring municipalities are Aieta, Papasidero, San Nicola Arcella, Santa Domenica Talao and Tortora.
Attractions
Landmark of Praia a Mare is the upstream Isola di Dino. The Santurio della Madonna della Grotta is located near the city center and houses a wooden statue of the Madonna and Child from the 15th century. In the period from 13 to 18 August regularly takes a great feast held in her honor. In the village is a castle from the Middle Ages.
