Praiano

Praiano is a town in the province of Salerno in Campania, Italy, and is part of the mountain community Comunità Montana penisola Amalfi.

Location and data

Praiano is situated 32 km west of Salerno on the Amalfi Amalfi to Positano with 2086 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012). Another district is Vettica Maggiore. The neighboring municipalities are Agerola (NA ), Furore, Positano.

The main livelihood of the community is tourism. In the village there are about 15 hotels. There are in Praiano access to the sea, a beach as Positano but the place has not.

History

The Year of the place is unknown.

Attractions

Worth seeing is the San Luca Evangelista. The origin of the church dates back to the year 1123. Inside are paintings by Giovanni Bernardo Lama in the 16th century. In the rectory of the 1552 houses a museum.
