Prakash Amritraj ( born October 2, 1983 in Los Angeles, United States) is an Indian tennis player.

Prakash Amritrajs father Vijay Amritraj and Anand Amritraj his uncle were also active as a tennis pro. His cousin Stephen Amritraj, son Anand, was already playing on the Challenger Tour. He graduated from the University of Southern California in Business.

Career

Prakash Amritraj reached in a single on 15 June 2009 with his best finish 154th in the world rankings. A year earlier he was in the final of the tournament of Newport, which he lost to Fabrice Santoro with the French, 3:6 and 5:7. In doubles, he was also able to even reach the final at the World Tour. In 2006 he moved with his compatriot Rohan Bopanna before a home crowd in Chennai one to the final. Counter Michal Mertiňák and Petr Pála they had to admit defeat but with 2:6 and 5:7. On the Challenger Tour he won six titles to date with changing partners. At Grand Slam tournaments he achieved his best result at the side of Aisam -ul- Haq Qureshi the first knockout round 2009 collection at Wimbledon. His highest placement in the double world ranking was ranked 119 on 26 October 2009.

From August 2010 to August 2012 Prakash Amritraj put a pause on the World Tour and completed a single tournament.

Between 2003 and 2008, Prakash Amritraj played ten matches for the Indian Davis Cup team. He was used exclusively in the individual, but his record is obtained with seven to eleven games lost negative.
