Prasiolite

Prasiolite, also called a green quartz, green amethyst or Vermarin, is a leek -green, transparent variety of quartz.

The name is a combination of two Greek words πράσον prason for leeks and λίθος lithos for stone, therefore, means leek ( colored ) stone.

Prasiolite is due to its appealing color prized as a gemstone. As it is, however, rarely found in nature at a few sites in India, Russia and Zimbabwe, it is mainly through burning ( heat up to about 500 ° C) of amethyst or yellow quartz. The color is, however, unstable and fade in the sunlight with time.
