Pratt & Whitney R-2060 Yellow Jacket

R -2060 Yellow Jacket by Pratt & Whitney (P & W ) is the name of an experimental aircraft engine with 2060 cubic inch ( cubic inches ) Engine capacity, 1000 hp power and water cooling. It was developed in the 1930s for the U.S. Army Air Corps, but never tested in airplanes or built in series.

The R -2060 it was a four-stroke 20 -cylinder radial engine with four successively in rows 5-cylinder Stars. Unlike most engines P & W he was not air but water-cooled. The one-piece, five -bearing crankshaft was bent four times - for each of the four five-cylinder star once.
