Prawdziska

Prawdziska ( German: Prawdzisken, 1934-1945 Reiffenrode ) is a Polish village in the northeastern Mazury. It belongs to the municipality Kalinowo in the Warmia - Masuria, Elk County. The village is located east of the village Kalinowo ( German calligrapher Owen ). The origin of the historic city name Prawdzisken derives from the Masurian term from a porcini mushroom.

History

The place Prawdzisken created by internal migration from the Elk room. 1505 transferred to the Commander of Elk Jacob Reiff, also called Walter, the colonists Adam ( Jadamowi ) sands and Nicholas ( Miklas ) Bahlo 10 hooves to manage.

1656 were allied with Poland Tatars in large parts of Mazury and in Prawdzisken, the village was largely destroyed. The Elk Amtshauptmann Auer noted as toll was 30 hooves, 19 Homesteads standeth, strewn all up on hoofs over the winter, no supplies, 17 persons driven away.

In May 1874, formed in the course of a Prussian government reform, the new District Dluggen, which includes the municipalities Burnien, Dluggen, Dlugoniedziellen, Duttken, Gronsken, Kolle popper, Krzysewen, Prawdzisken and Roman Owen and the Gutsbezirk Imionken.

1905 received Prawdzisken in Protestant -dominated district of a Catholic church. Pastor was there from 1919 to 1926 Wojciech Rogaczewski, the 1920 actively spoke out at the referendum on the future of the southern state of East Prussia for the detachment of the German Reich and the connection to Poland. However, the referendum went out with 98 % in favor of Germany. Rogaczewski campaigned on for a revival of the Polish language in the altmasurischen population, until he left Germany in 1926.

On 24 June 1908, resolved as part of the creation of larger territorial units of the District Dluggen, rural communities Burnien, Dluggen, Kolle popper, Krzysewen and Prawdzisken came to the district of Kalli Owen. With the re- establishment of Poland 1918 Prawdzisken border town of East Prussia province adjacent to the Podlaskie region in Poland.

Prawdzisken was renamed on 31 January 1934 at the wake of the massive Germanization of place names Masurian, Polish or Lithuanian origin in Reiffenrode. The name Reiffenrode is due to the fact that the place in 1505 in a previously forested area ( clearing) is primarily the result of the work of Jacob Reiff. After the Second World War in 1945 the town was renamed back to the Polish spelling of the historic city name Prawdzisken in Prawdziska.

With the end of the war the German Empire ( East Prussia ) belonging Reiffenrode fell to Poland. The resident population was German, if they had not fled, largely expelled or deported. New residents from other parts of Poland were located next to the traditional Masurian minority.

From 1975 to 1998 Prawdziska belonged to the Province of Suwalki. 1999, the site of the newly formed Warmian -Masurian been assigned.
