Praying with Anger is an American film drama directed by M. Night Shyamalan from the year 1992. The film premiered on 12 September 1992 at the International Film Festival in Toronto, earning applause and praise.

Action

Dev Raman who was kidnapped in the United States, decides to return to his native country India. To know about better there, he used a student exchange program of a university. In the beginning he has trouble settling into the Indian culture with its numerous religions. But with his mother and the advice of his friend, Sanjay help, he manages gradually.

Creation and reception

The script was written by Shyamalan during the final year of his film studies at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. The $ 750,000 budget came from his parents or a promotion of the American Film Institute. The film was shot Praying with Anger in India.
