Predappio

Predappio is a town (since 2006) with 6507 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Italian region Emilia -Romagna. The community is probably named after the Roman family of Appi.

History

In the Fascist period developed the birthplace of Mussolini, Dovia, a new settlement Predappio Nuova, which was given the name Predappio over time, while the old, shortly before severely damaged by a Mure Predappio Predappio Alta became ( Oberpredappio ).

The districts are Baccanello, Dovia, Fiumana ( independent municipality until 1925 ), Marsignano, Monte Maggiore, Predappio Alta ( until 1927 the seat of the municipal administration ), San Cassiano, San Savino, Sant'Agostino, Santa Marina, Tontola and Trivella. The neighboring municipalities are Forli e Terra del Sole, Civitella di Romagna, Dovadola, Forlì, Galeata, Meldola and Rocca San Casciano.
