Prefetching

As prefetching (English, German, previous retrieval ( commands ) ') is referred to in the computer science, the heuristic load memory contents upward in the memory hierarchy before a need has become evident, so in the case of Actual demand a higher access speed to achieve.

In the case of Single Instruction, Multiple Data ( SIMD ) can be the future demand easily predict sufficiently well so that prefetching can be made here with specific instructions. Even when pipelining is used prefetching.

Disadvantages are inefficient use of bandwidth and faster storage medium that is burdensome to the extent in which the heuristic is inappropriate.
