Prelog strain

Designated under the Prelog - voltage, as transannular interaction (s ), is defined as the interaction between two non-adjacent ( transannular ) hydrogen nuclei in the middle cycloalkane rings (7 -14- ring). In such ring systems, a repulsive interaction between two axial hydrogen nuclei occur. This leads to a low change of the conformation of the ring, the hoop stress is increased by the deformation angle.

The 1,3- diaxial interactions in cyclohexane is known as Prelog voltage.

It is named after the Swiss Nobel laureate Vladimir Prelog, which they explored.
