Presiding Bishop

The Presiding Bishopric is one of the governing bodies of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -day Saints. In statements of the Church states:

In temporal things one understands the financial and material basis. The Presiding Bishopric is thus responsible for the management of donations, particularly the tithe of buildings, welfare institutions and enterprises of the church. In this sense, they are also the local church leaders ( bishops ) Instructions for accounting and use of financial resources as well as for the care and upkeep of the building. In its role as Presidency of the Aaronic Priesthood, it is supported by the leadership of the young men.

Together with the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, they form the Committee for the Disposition of the Tithes.

Currently (2009) H. David Burton Presiding Bishop Richard C. Edgley serves as his first counselor and Keith B. McMullin as second counselor.
