PrestaShop

PrestaShop is a European open source e- commerce platform with claims to currently about 100,000 installations. It was published on 1 August 2008 in version 1.0 and is subject to the Open Software License version 3.0.

Technology

PrestaShop is based on the PHP scripting language and uses the MySQL database system for storing the data. It has been designed so that it allows the separation of function and appearance. History

Prestashop was originally started from November 2005 to February 2007 at the Epitech, School of Computing, as a project of five young students. These were M. Morel, M. Saintot, M. Da- Silva, M. Borde and B. Lévêque. Igor Schlumberger of LeGuide was the supervisor of this project.

The original project, in two languages ​​(French, English ) translated, meant phpopenstore (POS). The developers decided already to design the shop solution to implement an open source project. It was developed in collaboration with several practical small traders.

The company was founded Prestashop 2007 in Paris, France, by Igor Schlumberger and Bruno Lévêque (CEO).

GermaNext

GermaNext is a module for PrestaShop that represents a complete German translation of the shop system. In addition, the standard for compliance with German laws and regulations will be extended. GermaNext is already largely prepared for a certification by Trusted Shops.

German Edition (up to version 1.3.7 )

PrestaShop in its standard version does not support all requirements of German law, for example, lacks the support of the cancellation. These gaps were closed up to the version of the German community under the name German Edition partially. However, this is no longer developed since version 1.3.7.
