Presto (layout engine)

Presto is an HTML rendering engine, which was developed in 2003 specifically for the Opera browser and is used there from version 7 to version 12. It differs from its predecessor primarily in terms of their dynamic operation: Called pages or their parts can be re-rendered at any time. Presto also supports the Document Object Model (DOM ) of the W3C completely. Furthermore, so-called Presto interpreted Street HTML ( pejorative sense: " Alley Source" ). Thus, the manufacturer called non-standard, optimized for widespread Internet Explorer web pages.

From version 15 Opera uses the HTML rendering engine flashing.
